BQ-Portal wins the United Nations Public Service Award 2024 for Innovation in Public Institutions
United Nations honors the BQ-Portal – the information portal for foreign professional qualifications, an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, with the United Nations Public Service Award (UNPSA) on June 26th, 2024.
The BQ-Portal is a comprehensive online knowledge and work platform that consolidates relevant information on foreign professional qualifications and vocational education systems. The concept of the platform can be transferred to other areas of public administration and serves as a model for national and international initiatives.
The platform supports the agencies responsible for professional recognition in Germany. Employees from various recognition agencies access the platform’s information and are involved in its research, compilation, and quality assurance processes. This approach ensures that administrative work meets high standards of efficiency, consistency, and quality.
The BQ-Portal provides its information to recognition agencies, businesses, and the general public. This promotes the uniform and transparent evaluation of foreign professional qualifications and facilitates the integration of qualified immigrants into the German labor market.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the BQ-Portal team extend their gratitude to all involved parties for their dedicated collaboration and warmly congratulate them on this award.
Since 2003, the United Nations has annually recognized creative achievements and contributions of public service institutions with the UN Public Service Awards (UNPSA). These awards highlight efforts that lead to more efficient and responsive public administration worldwide, enhancing the role, professionalism, and visibility of public service.
