During the three-day conference, representatives from more than 40 countries can take part in a one-day government achievements’ exhibition, conference discussions, diverse workshops and live working sessions. Participants will get valuable insights into the most innovative and effective projects through case studies and excellence showcases. The conference is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the United Arab Emirates Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Among other government authorities, public administrations from the USA, France, Denmark and Japan will demonstrate their best practices. The BQ-Portal, the information portal for foreign professional qualifications, will represent Germany at the conference. In 2015, the BQ Portal was recognised as the best and most innovative performer in public administrations across Europe. The project was awarded the European Public Sector Award trophy in the European/national/regional category by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA).
The BQ-Portal, the information platform for foreign professional qualifications, is the online platform providing detailed and scientifically verified information on foreign vocational training systems, the substance and duration of individual vocational training programmes and the legal bases on which they are offered. The focus here is on non-academic professional qualifications. The BQ-Portal benefits the competent bodies, responsible for the recognition process, employers and skilled migrants. This is a unique project as it is the first portal to pool all of the relevant information on foreign professional qualifications at national or European level.
